Intu-what?

Today when my cell phone went off, I knew who it was, even without looking at the caller ID. I got a package in the mail with some papers in it five minutes before I needed to forward those papers on. I made plans for dinner, but had a feeling it wouldn’t work, so made a “plan B.” I wasn’t bummed when the first ones did end up falling through. Have you ever had things like that happen? Funny things. Weird things. Odd things. Everyone has. Get that. I mean it isn’t actually odd, it happens to EVERYONE.

This is your intuition. Your inner guidance system to get through the world. What I like to call your factory-installed GPS (only you can’t seem to download the directions). And EVERYONE has it. Intuition is not some weird-out there talent that only a few people have, it’s just that most of us have been trained to ignore it, and most of us do not think about it unless it kicks in on HIGH. But actually you can learn – in easy and fun ways – to strengthen your intuition so you can use it all the time. And I really must emphasize how fun it is. Like playing with the universe. Bowling with gods. Huge bonus round. We usually recall intuitive moments as strong or dramatic, the truth is intuition is there all the time, even for the things that seem small. It can help you pick your classes, chose vitamins at the store, which way to walk home, and know what NOT to say in the middle of an argument.

Intuition is not abandonment of thought or doing whatever you please with a permanent “get out of jail free” card. You still gather information, consider your choices, but you tune in to YOU for clear guidance on what to DO and how to use the information that you have. And it works. Every time.

And BTW, it matters. Because all life brings is change – and change means you must make choices and decisions. It matters in daily life, in business, and how you contribute to the world. Trying to decide depending on other people’s opinions will get you where other people want you to go. Likely that is the wrong place. Double bonus: while intuition can help pull you closer to your vision faster than fast, even if you aren’t sure where you are going, it can help you stay in good places to find what’s right for you and get opportunities to find your vision.

Laura Kowalski is an internationally known author and speaker on intuition. She can be found at www.LaughingDivas.com. Her recent book “Getting Lucky 27 Quick Tips For College Students” helps people find their GPS manual.
